Future Aims | Whāinga roa
Aims for 2025:
Have programmes running at 3 of 19 NZ-based prisons.
Identify a Prison where an entire unit of staff and those in care may be trauma informed
We’ve attempted this at the Manawatū Prison for the last 2 years but due to high rate of incarcerated movement in-out of the prison we have not been able to achieve our goal
Manawatū Prison staff have recommended to attempt this with the Whanganui Prison and we are in discussions with their Programmes team to explore options.
Begin running two community-based programmes in collaboration with other support services
Start bi-monthly 4-hour Compassion trauma circles online in the community setting
Begin Qualitative evaluation in collaboration with the University of Victoria University of Wellington (aim is to have 90 participants complete the programme and be evaluated)
