Compassion Prison Project Aotearoa (CPP Aotearoa) is a registered charitable trust (CC62833) based in Papaioea, Aotearoa; Palmerston North, New Zealand. Founded in 2024 by Dr. Kyle Van de Bittner, CPP Aotearoa brings a trauma-informed rehabilitation approach to New Zealand's prison system, inspired by the international work of the Compassion Prison Project started by Fritzi Horstman in California, USA in 2019.
